Hanging Out in NYC
Just got back from NYC and Jersey. What a weekend. Started off bad and got better as the days went by. First off, Thursday ... WHAT A MESS. After the security alert, all airports in the US were on high alert. Delays, cancelled flights, standbys, trouble retrieving checked baggage. The story goes on and on. Many people had to check in their toiletry items, otherwise, in the garbage can they went at the security checkpoint. It was hilarious since half of the people either forgot to watch the news or are oblivious to what is going on in the world. I got halfway to Newark Airport and ended up on an Amtrak train from DC to get there. I even got an unplanned tour of DC at 12:30 in the morning. Long story .. don't feel like blogging it. I'll share the details another time.
Anyways, the weekend in NYC was great. We met up with our friends Nikhil and Andi who brought along a party of four other friends (Cheryl & Steve, Maryann & Mike). Nik's cousin Ashish who lives in Upper West Side also found the time to hang out with us. Outlet mall Woodbury on Friday sucked ... but meals at Churrascaria Tribeca and Nobu Next Door made it that much better. Expensive but the quality of food was outstanding. Nothing in Toronto is even close. Hanging out on a rooftop bar on Fifth Avenue was pretty cool too. Also, if you are in NYC, make sure you check out Sapporo (7th & 49th in NYC) and the Peking Duck House (Closter, NJ). The peking duck was absolutely amazing. Thanks again to Steve's aunt.
Here are some pictures I took. I'll post more pics as friends starting sending them out.
